Dear Swim Fort Lauderdale Masters Swimmers:
As we flipped our calendars from 2011 to 2012 our new Swim Fort Lauderdale Masters team was launched.....and to date we have exceeded our initial goal of registering more than 150 swimmers(!). With assistance from the City of Fort Lauderdale and extraordinary effort from our coach Marty Hendrick we are poised to take our place as one of the elite Masters swim programs in the country.
To assist and support our swimmers and coaches we recently have formed the Swim Fort Lauderdale Masters Booster Club. Our mission is to help our team do the things necessary to make your Masters team swimming experience better than your expectations. Whether you have joined the program for championship swim meet preparation and participation, fitness, cross training for triathlons, open water event prep or social events with other swimmers we want you to be proud of your decision to be a member of Swim Fort Lauderdale. And we want you to look good too.....wait until you see the soon-to-be-available Swim Fort Lauderdale Team Gear.
I know that many of you have inquired about how you can get involved with the Booster Club and we cannot thank you enough for you interest. We will be completing the setup of our administrative organizational requirements within the next week or so. Then we will be able to recruit for committee chair board seats; offer club membership to eligible and interested participants; as well as seek out volunteers to staff local swim meets, work national and international championship events, fundraise, sell Swim Fort Lauderdale Team Gear and plan social gatherings.
